Staff

Role: to maintain a nurturing and supportive environment, meeting the personal and psychological needs of all children.

Staff members have a right to:

  • enjoy their time at the centre
  • be informed of the specific needs of individual children
  • work in a supportive environment
  • be safe and have their property safe
  • have access to appropriate professional development activites
  • be treateed with courtesy and respect

Staff Responsibilities:

  • allow others to enjoy themselves
  • be punctual and organised for work
  • communicate effectively to seek information whilst respecting its confidentiality
  • provide a supportive and encouraging environment
  • continually looking to improve work performance
  • treat others with courtesy and respect

St Andrew's OSHC maintains a staffing ratio of 1:13 children except when on excursions, the rate then becomes 1:8.

All OSHC staff are required to have current Working with Children Suitability Cards and annually update their Senior First Aid Certificates, as well as attending in-service training on a regular basis.
